We’re talking current trends with superstar stylist Brooke.
Here’s her opinion and tips for what’s smokn’ hot.
Keep the curls
Embrace your kinks and coils.
How to: Apply R&Co TWISTER in your hands and scrunch it into your hair as a primer. Follow it by spraying in R&Co FREEWAY. Twist curls with your fingers to define some if desired on wet hair and let it dry naturally, or you can use a diffuser.
Top tip – Avoid brushing textured hair when styling it if you want to preserve the curl pattern. Instead, use your fingers to separate and define.
Keep your roots dark and the lengths a warm golden blonde, and you’ll be bang on trend. I love golden shades with other warmer tones all over are the new platinum
Move over platinum – I’m into shades of gold, copper, caramel, and toffee, gives your hair that healthy shine too.
Big and bouncy is no longer uncool.
I’m talking glossy, glamorous hair that looks seriously healthy. 80’s inspired disco vibe hair, that’s rich in volume, texture, and curls that are broken with a soft flick.
How to: Use R&Co’s DALLAS Shampoo and Conditioner as a base to build from. Next spritz with either R&Co’s DALLAS Thickening Spray or ROCKAWAY at your roots depending on your hair texture and how much oomph your needing. Dry your hair off with your head flipped upside down. Flip your hair back and smooth off fuffy ends with a round brush to get maximum volume. Once dried, take a step back in time and tease comb the roots. Finish with R&Co’s OUTERSPACE hairspray.
Leave it Loose
Finally! You can accept the undone wet look by leaving it loose and tousled. Wet look curls also look great if your after a softer look that’s a lot less harsh than a straight poker finish.
How To: Start off with R&Co’s BEL AIR Shampoo and Conditioner and towel dry well. Squirt out a golf ball size mound of R&Co’s AIRCRAFT and scrunch into your locks. Leave it to air dry for a tousled look or add a small amount of R&Co’s HIGH DIVE in for a smoother result.
Use the throwback hair tie to secure loose ponytails for a look that says understated rather than retro.
Top tip: To keep it modern avoid having a massive scrunchie. Go for a style that’s simple like a sleek, low pony and secure it with a scrunchie. Keep the colour plain too, nothing to patterned or metallic.
School Girl Plaits
If you’re going for this look, you’ll want to keep this loose and a bit untidy.
How To: Give yourself a deep side part and blow dry on each side with the air directed downwards to help it stay put. Divide into three sections, braid and secure with your chosen elastic. Then tug at the braid to loosen things up a bit. Finish this look off with some R&Co’s VICIOUS hairspray
Top tip: Use simple, clear hair elastics, they’re hardly visible. Hair bobbles maybe fun, but there is no way you’re going to look sophisticated with a plait/bobble combo, leave that to kids.
Hairbands are a great way of making any style look preppy. The bolder the print, the better! And they work well with a fringe or a low ponytail.
And why not patent leather for a gorgeous shimmer or go full throttle and have it super extreme with beads and jewels.
